Learning outcomes
The aim of this lecture is to learn the students to translate original latin text to the native language and to introduce them to the translation studies.
The course is focused on the practical skills necessary for translating Latin texts into mother language. Students will learn how to translate various types of latin texts both, in prosa and in verse, and will be introduced to the main problems of the translation studies. They will also acquire a general overview of the history of Czech translation of classical Latin works.
Prerequisites
Good knowledge of Latin language and completion of courses in Latin morphology, syntax and stylistics.

Student performance, Seminar Work

Active participation in class and translation of chosen passages from Latin texts in prose.
