Course content
1. Civilizations of Egypt, Middle East, Iran. 2. Civilisation of ancient India, China and pre-Columbian Americe. 3. Minoan and Mycenean civilisation. 4. Ancient Greece in archaic and classical period, Athens and Sparta. 5. Hellenism. 6. Etrsuscans and origins of Rome. 7. Roman Republic and its terriotrial expansion, romanization and economic development. 8. Social and political institutions of Roman Republic. 9. Crisis of Roman Republic, civil wars. 10. Roman Empire in the period of principate. 11. Dominate and the crisis of Roman Empire. 12. The collapse of ancient civilisation and its reasons, migration of nations and the birth of medieval Europe.

The knowledge of political, social and cultural history of ancient Greece and Rome in the wider context of other civilizations of Old Age (Egypt, Middle East, India)
Student has knowledge of history of ancient Middle East and ancient Greece.
