Course content |
The seminary will be concerned mainly with geographical developement of political subjects. Attention will also be paid to ecclesiastical structure, ethnic and religious situation, economical characteristics of respective regions, trade routes and centres etc. Several of these topics will be discussed in the closing classes in general. We will also hit upon phenomena closely related to geography, such as forms of expansion, nature of ?international? relationships, the respective factors favorizing cohesion or dissolution of political structures.

A purpose of the seminary is to expand student's knowledge of a geography of the medieval Europe, Mediterranean, and Near East.
Student will receive factographical knowledge of geographical aspect of the most important phenomena and processes of middle ages. |
Prerequisites |
No specific previous knowledge is required, a basic orientation in the history of late antiquity is expected, the knowledge of foreign languages will be welcome.
