Course content
Aims of the course. Basic literature. History of Olomouc, the Palacký University and the Department of History. Excursion - Olomouc sights. An analysis of the excursion. Basic characteristics of History studies. Historical workplaces. Historical journals. Material sources and work with them. History as science, possible areas of the research. Bibliography. History and its reflections in society. Literature as a historical source. Types of literature. Academic literature. Research of sources and its methods. Searching for sources and work with sources. Review, study, paper etc. Excursions (Archives in Olomouc nad Opava, Museum in Olomouc, Libraries in Olomouc). Methods of research. HF

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook)
Learning outcomes
The lectures are the same as for history. In seminars basic literature and journals will be itroduced. Students will be also acquainted with the functions and work of historical workplaces, they will be familiar with basic methods of the historian's methods (inductive and deductive method, direct and indirect method,comparative method etc.). The aim of the seminars is work with literature, journals and material sources. Students will be taught to write a review, a study and an article. Excursions will be included (museums, archives, libraries). HF
After participating in the course, the student will be able to use this specialisation in pedagogical and other practice of this field of study. HF

There are no special prerequisities. HF

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written exam

Attendance and participation in lessons, managing studied topics, active participation in a discussion. HF
