Course content
The aim of the seminars is to acquaint students with various libraries and archives in a form of excursions, looking for information through internet, using bibliography, guides in archival funds, inventories and catalogues etc. Studnets will leran to cite literature nad sources in a proper way, to make footnotes, a resume, an annotation and a review and to edit. The will learn to write an academic text, give a paper and to discuss about a given topic. They will be lead to be able to speak or write about a certain topic creatively with the respect to their readers or listeners. Excursion - a historical city centre of Olomouc Excursion - archives in Olomouc (ZAO, SOkA,UPOL) Excursion - Research Library in Olomouc Excursion - Regional Museum in Olomouc Other excursions into historian´s workplaces outside Olomouc, if possible Kinds nad forms of historian´s work Rules for wriring an academic paper in history Kinds of historical sources, their samples, a study, an analysis (based on individul student´s work) HF

Learning outcomes
The aim of seminars is to teach future archivists to have right habits of techniques, to find information for a selected topic, to base the work on a well-done analysis of sources as well as literature and finally to conclude their pieces of knowledge with a publication in a respect to a reader or a listener. Seminars deal with practical activities - to get knowledge of basic information sources, techniques and methods of work. Excursions into specialized workplaces (museum, archive, library), written papers and discussions about chosen topics are included. HF
A graduate gains basic knowledge of information sources in a filed of history, he also learns how to write an academic text including citations of sources and literature. HF

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Class attendance and active participation in lessons, managing of the field, the requirement for a credit is an active participation in Olomouc excursion (a paper about a sight), a presentation of a journal and sources for a given topic, a powerpoint presentation of a topic and an essay about a selected personality´s life. HF
