Course content
|
Acquisitions made by museums - forms, possibilities, basic documents, procedures of receiving new exhibits. Museum records: Chronologic and systematic registration of exhibits, registration program DEMUS, central registration of collections. Custody of museum exhibits: policies of storage and manipulation of collections, equipment of depositories with modern storage and safety systems. Basics of preservation - practical examples of cleaning and tending of exhibits. Cultural-educational work: forms and possibilities, cooperation with schools. Exhibitions and prezentations - types, possibilities, creation of an exhibition. PZ

|
Participants of the course will get not only introduction into particular issues of museum work, but also information about modern trends, approaches and methods of contemporary museology and tasks of it for the 21st century. There will lectures and seminars focused on practical work of museums - students will learn basic terminology and many professional know-how and skills, which are very useful for a work of a historian. This knowledge, solidified by practical experience, will be useful in student's future research work and also in his/her professional profiling. This also may increase student's value on the job market. PZ
