Course content
The lessons are dedicated to the overview of the policy of the state (Cisleithanien and Czechoslovakia) to the churches (creation of the frame field for the christian policy) and of the involvement of the churches in policy. The focus is on the creation of the catholic political parties in the peirod of the honorational party spirit. The important occasions of the political catholicism are concerned, papal encyclics, Rerum novarum on the first place and Quadragesimo anno. Next to this problematics, the focus is also on the formation, or integration of the parties in the political-parties system since the second half of the 19th century and processes of their transformation into the modern ?mass? parties. The important part are also the changes of the program of these parties accoding to the changes of the Czech society during the 20th century. The seminars are dedicated to the analysis of the reaction of the political catholicism to the intellectual streams of the time ? liberalism, antisemitism, socialism, fascism, communism, conservatism.
