Course content

Type A - Ancient Greece 1st Basic and information literature, journals for study of Antiquity history. 2-3rd Democracy antiquity and modern. 4-5th Bacis characteristic of economic Athen. 6-7th Social stratification people in Atiquity Atheny and Sparta and its changes. 8-9th Religions of antiquity Greeks. 10-11th Greek architecture, sculpture and painting. 12-13th Everyday life of Antiquity Greeks. Type B - Ancient Roma 1-2nd Basic characteristic of economic Italy and Roman Empire. 3-4th Social stratification people I Antiquity Roma and its changes, which are connected with origin of Roma Empire. 5-6th Religions of antiquity Romans and influence of east cults. 7th Christianity - reasons of origin and basic characteristic. 8-9th Roman architecture, sculpture and painting. 10th Everyday life of Romans, for example Pompeii. 11-12th Romans in Central Europe. 13th Ancient traditions in Olomouc.

Learning outcomes
|
The main target of seminars is expanded information from lectures about Greek and Roman economic, social structures of society and culture. Each exercise is based analysing examples of primary written sources and professional literature. Student chose seminar type A or type B (according to students' interest).
Students are gaining detailed information about theme.

Basic overview in history of Antiquity history.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Essay, Student performance
Attend entrance turitorial - 1 hour: acquainted with content and form study of subject. Attend at running tutorial: two seminars about selected chapters of themes from atiqutity seminar; 2 seminars focuse on presentation students paper. Consultations - two consultations at the beggining and during semester at least - determination of procedure of individual studies and establish tasks. When student need, he can establish more consultations. Student can select form of consultation with lecturers - personal, by email, skype, facebook etc.
