Course content
1 -2nd An Archaeological heritage preservation and management of archaeological heritage, Relation of Theoretical and Applied Archaeology in the management of archaeological heritage, The main management tools of the archaeological heritage, An overview of domestic legislation for the management of archaeological heritage, Different interpretations of laws, Resolving cases of willfull destruction of archaeological sites, Management of archaeological heritage in foreign country, The Protection mode of archaeological monuments: what threatens archaeological sites and monuments, lists of immovable archaeological monuments, options of protection of movable heritage (Bureš). 3-4th A journey of information to the archaeological research, the question of a relation between a curator, contractor, client and consultant, Archaeological Project: 5 phases of the archaeological project, budget and schedule of the project, the types of archaeological projects, management of archaeological field research (preparation and delivering, working with technicians and temporary workers, the role of head of the research, preservation of health and safety of the work, social conditions of involved workers). Terms of Archaeology: the concept of a research and contract relation, the legal basis of the contract relation, contract negotiations, the use of statuary standards in the process of contract negotiation, a contract about an implementation of archaeological research , the contractual relation, its formation, duration and termination. Management of an archaeological organization. Statuary forms of archaeological institutions. The organizational structure of the institution: functional, projectional, matrixional. Management of financial resources: financial resource management as a process, budget of an organization (programme, resource, budget of the financial flows). Obtaining of the financional resources: grants, donations, membership fees, loans, proceeds from the sale of goods or services. Basic principles of accounting. Marketing: marketing mindset, marketing steps, universality and specialization. Team: what is a team, selection of the team members and personality characteristics, a leader character and leadershiping of a team. Leading of the working group: the continuum of leading styles, managerial grid, leading of a meetings and negotiations, basics of dealings. Archaeological organizations and taxes. 5 - 6th An Archaeological heritage and the public: Is Archaeology necessary for the public? Why Archaeology need public, which is informated? Public as recipient of servicies? Final group in the public, its delimitation and its address, Expansion of information about Archaeology and in Archaeology, Protection of Copyright in Archaeology, Possibilities of archaeological operation to the public, publication of information, education, popularization, Role of Archaeologist in operation to the public (Bureš). 7 - 8th Archaeology and protection of environment, Achaeology and territorial planning, Archaeology in state administration and self-goverment, Protection or reconstruction?, Questions of protection or accesion of archaeological sites (protection, conservation, restoring, reconstruction, rebuilt), Archaeology and tourism, Archaeology in telecommunication (press, radio, press report, television, press conference, Archaeological reflection in literature, art, film or theatre and its meaning) (Bureš). 9 - 13th Archaeologist and museum; Forms of gainig of collection (acquisition); Exhibitions and exhibition; Work with researchers, conservatories and documentators, museum archives and libraries, preparation of borrow, expert´s opinions and another basis; Visitation to regional museum archaeological department (Kalábková).

Learning outcomes
First part of course talks about archaeological preservation. Students are familiar with issue of forms of laws, which are connected with archaeological work, and concrete examples from practice, which demonstrate possible problems and its solutions. Second part talks about Museum Archaeology - the way of managing an archaeological collection, its records and inventory. The course focuses on the presentation of archaeological work to the public.
Students gain qualified overview about archaeological preservation of Monuments, museum Archaeology, and presentation of archaeological cultural heritage.
Prerequisites
Basic orientation about archaeologists work and archaeological work.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Attend entrance turitorial - 1 hour: acquainted with contein and form of study subject, delivery resource materials. Attend at study programm, which is realized by blocked teaching at UP whole day long - two lectures focus on theme Introduction to Preservation of Monuments, two seminars are focused on discussion about selected problems of Archaeological Preservation of Monuments, two lectures about Introduction to museum Archaeology and two seminars about evidence of museum archaeological collection. Consultations - Consultations are not least the two at beggining and in the end of semester: determination of procedure of individual studies and establish tasks. When student need, he can establish more consultations. Student can select formo of consultation with lecturers - personal, by email, skype, facebook etc. Study is controled by series of tasks, which student discharg during the semester.
