Course content
Introduction of the structurally complex German syntax (the subject area of syntax, the definition of the basic concepts: sentence, communicative sentence types, sentence structures, sentence patterns), grammatical structure of a simple sentence(the verb as the main sentence element and base of sentence analysis, verb complements), compound sentence (types of coordination, content continuity of the coordinated sentence parts), complex sentence (formal, functional and semantic description of clauses), specific forms. Kinds and means of expressing the subordination of clauses. Infinitive and participial constructions, their concurrence with explicit clauses. Attribute. Semantic cases. In major aspects analogies to Czech syntax are drawn.

Learning outcomes
The objective of the lecture is to introduce the grammar structure of German sentences and various approaches to sentence analysis.
A comprehensive overview of the basic system of German descriptive grammar. The ability to form grammatically correct text units.
Prerequisites
Intended for the students of the bachelor study program.

Oral exam, Written exam
