Course content
|
This seminar aims to introduce and provide practice in the most important fundamentals of punctuation usage in German. In doing so, the German system of punctuation will be contrasted with the Czech system. Finally, the seminar will also address key phases in the development of punctuation within European linguistic culture, with a particular focus on the question of why and how German punctuation theory, in particular, was conceived in such a decidedly grammatical-syntactic manner.
