In this seminar, selected German pop and rock songs will be presented and analyzed from a linguistic perspective. The aim is to illustrate, through these examples, that linguistics and poetics share various points of intersection that facilitate a fruitful exchange. Songs are selected primarily based on their suitability for in-depth textual analysis. Suggestions from seminar participants are also taken into account.
