Course content |
Seminars providing an overview of various expressions of German/Austrian/Swiss culture, history, history of ideas, history of arts, social, political and media events. The seminars and exercises consist in an interactive presentation of these topics based on collective reading of the texts concerned. Examples of the topics of individual seminars: Selected topics concerning the history of German speaking countries Selected topics concerning the culture of German speaking countries Media Texts as cultural documents

Learning outcomes |
In this course we work with different German as a foreign language textbooks. The main goal is to improve your own oral speaking skills at level b2 to c1. We use various materials from textbooks that prepare students for the Goethe or ÖSD language exams. We also practice listening comprehension. Students complete a presentation of approximately ten minutes, which they have to give during the semester. As the course is practice-based, a maximum of two absences are permitted. The presentation is mandatory in order to receive the course confirmation.
The seminar aims at introducing students to the problems, issues and methods used in certain disciplines the knowledge of which is essential for the study of the German society and culture. |

The seminar is intended for all students of the Palacký University.

Student performance, Analysis of Creative works (Music, Pictorial,Literary), Didactic Test
As the course is practice-based, a maximum of two unexcused absences are permitted. The presentation is mandatory in order to receive the course confirmation. |
