Course content

The textbook ANDERS AXMARK FRA NAKSKOV OG HANS FAMILIE is intended for students of Danish at A2 level, loosely based on the textbook AKTIVT DANSK. It is based on sociological studies which divide the Danish population into 4 segments with an individualistic or community orientation on one axis and a materialistic or idealistic orientation on the other. Anders, his family and friends thus represent different groups in Danish society with different preferences and different ways of expressing themselves. The book consists of 7 parts, which are related in content and describe a coherent but often surprising course of events. Each part consists of a series of chapters, which in turn consist of a basic text, comprehension questions, pronunciation exercises, grammar exercises, exercises with idiomatic structures and free exercises that require internet searches. They progress from relatively simple exercises using only present tense forms to more complex constructions such as the use of the subjunctive, different types of sentences, conjunctions and hypothetical constructions.

Learning outcomes
|
In the fifth semester of Danish, the aim is to further expand the vocabulary of the language, acquire the ability to read more complex texts and consolidate phrases in everyday communication. We will work with a new textbook of a higher language level - Anders Axmark og hans familie fra Nakskov (the author is the already well-known Lise Bostrup). This time we will focus on history, philosophy and geography.
After completing this course, the student will understand the main ideas related to common topics that he/she regularly encounters in everyday life, study, work and leisure. The student will be able to react in most situations that may arise when travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can write a simple, coherent text on topics that are familiar or of interest to him/her. The student will be able to describe his/her experiences and events, express his/her opinions and plans.
