Course content
Course topics: 1. natural language, writen and spoken texts 2. dialogue analysis methods, secondary literature 3. selection and data processing, transcription, language corpus 4. analysis of a spoken text or a part of it

Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook)

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course the student: - knows the basic literature on analysis of dialogue in German-speaking countries, - can summarize and explain the basic trends and methods of dialogue and analysis, - can read transcripts, make data analysis on various levels of language and text, and - has an overview of current publications in German Dialogue Analysis.
Prerequisites
Elementary knowledge in Dialog Analysis - terminology, literature about Dialog Analysis in Germany.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Seminar Work

- completion of midterm tasks - submission of a written paper of about 15 pages (practical analysis or theoretical writing with secondary literature) - Oral examination 70% = passing
