Course content
|
Lectures are focused on the history of Czech cinematography from the beginnings to present. Film is perceived not only as a set of artifacts but also as a part of dynamic social context and as a part of national cultural context. Further themes include: - History of establishment of local movie houses - Censorship in Czech film - Presentation of critical social acts in Czech cinematography - Specific genres (fairytale, sci-fi, historical film) - Independent film (esthetic and institutional alternatives) Contemporary trends of national cinematography
