Learning outcomes
|
The course aims to introduce students to the historical poetics of cinema as formulated and developed by leading film theorist and historian David Bordwell. The instructor will present Bordwell's theoretical points of departure and main theses of his concept. The course also aims to enhance students' analytical skills.
To be able to orientate well in current film theory, and to actively use learned approaches in film analysis and interpretation.
