Accompanying seminar to lecture on Current trends in film theory. Topics in more general features of the lecture will be discussed in more detail in the seminar, on the basis of selected texts in the following areas: semiotics postructuralism narratology theory of postmodern and Giles Deleuze about film feminist film theories psychoanalysis cognitive psychology in film theory theory of documentary film animation film theory

Learning outcomes
|
Accompanying workshop for the lecture Current Trends in Film Theory. Topics which were summarized in the lecture will be studied in detail, using selected texts.
Students will gain the knowledge of current trends in film theory and will be able to classify a specific text into the context of film theory. Sudents are able to work with scholarly text from film theory. Students are able to use the terminology in film theory in foreign language, students also become familiar with the skills of using the theory in analysis, comparation and interpretation of specific film problems.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance, Seminar Work
Knowledge of text selected on seminar. Active participation in the seminar, tolerated absence, creation and presentation of an essay.
