The course presents particular topics within the frame of contemporary historiography of cinema. Film is studied and interpreted in reference to economic, technological and social background in which it functions. The production processes, distribution strategies, modes of exhibition and broader cultural contexts adherent to cinematic functioning are taken into account.
Student will gain the detailed knowledge of world cinema history which he will use in his further professional practise as film historian. |
Prerequisites |
No prerequisites. The orientation in general history of cinema, the knowledge of methodological approaches of new film history. The courses appropriate for graduation: History of World Cinema 1-3, Proseminar of subject methodology, Introduction to film theory.
