Students will gain a basic overview of how different theater morphed folders and work with them, the position of an actor, director and playwright. Part of the explanation is focused on cross-cutting issues (time and space, theater on the border with performance and visual arts, theater anthropology, Broadway and its off-off scenes, theater laboratories), part of lectures focuses on authors, producers and specific company (Living Theatre, Bread and Puppets, The Performance Group, Open Theatre, San Francisco Mime Troup, Teatr Laboratorium, Odin Teatret, Peter Brook, Richard Schechner, Peter Schumann, Robert Wilson, Jerzy Grotowski, Tadeusz Kantor, Arianne Mnouchkine, Eugenio Barba).
