Course content
|
Introduction to the historical sources science. The theatre historian?s basic outputs, procedures and methods (heuristics, source interpretation, historical facts reconstruction, sources creation). The creation of theatre-historical documentation (repertoire, character, direction list, theatre iconography, electronic machines use, database creation). Institutional acquiring, compiling, depositing and declassifying theatre sources, terminology; archives, museums, libraries.

Learning outcomes
|
Bachelor's degree students will be acquainted with the basics of the work with theatre sources.
Students will know a lot about the process of acquiring, recording, compiling and presenting theatre sources in the institutions. The pieces of knowledge will be useful for the diploma work methodology.

Prerequisites
|
Course with no prerequisites. Course is only for the students of distance learning of the discipline theatre and film studies!

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam
Students will participate in at least 3 hours of seminar. Written task: student will describe and analyze an information value of a theatre source. Student will gain credits for a written paper.
