Learning outcomes
|
The film seminar is the first introduction of students to the field. It is an imaginary demarcation line between film fandom and the perception of cinema as a research problem. Students will be encouraged to work with the academic literature.
Knowledge of current situation in world cinematography and of dynamic tendencies of individual national film cultures. Student will be able to recognize details in construction of film in contexts of artistic form, style and genre which will later apply in work experience (criticism, professional journalism, dramaturgical activities, etc.).

Prerequisites
|
The seminar is scheduled at the beginning of studies in order to stimulate students´ motivation to follow current trends in world and Czech cinematography. Competencies for adoption - work with primary literature - contextualization of film - oral presentation

Student performance
At least 75% attendance at seminars Home preparation (knowledge of required literature and films) Class discussion Short essay (2-3 pages) Participation in the debate competition + additional task for the losing team (5-7 pages)
