Lecturer in Winter 2022/2023: Mgr. Milan Hain, Ph.D. The programme in Winter 2022/2023 focuses on the directorial work of Charlie Chaplin. Most of his feature films and a selection of short films from the 1910s will be screened. Program: 1. a selection of early work at Keystone / 20 Sept. 2. a selection of short films for Essanay / 27 Sep. 3. a selection of short films for Mutual / 4 Oct. 4. Kid / A Woman of Paris / 11 Oct. 5. The Gold Rush / 18 Oct. 6. City Lights / 25 Oct. 7. Modern Times / 1 Nov. 8. The Dictator / 8 Nov. 9. Monsieur Verdoux / 15 Nov. 10. Limelight / 22 Nov. 11. A King in New York / 29 Nov. 12. documentary Charlie: The Life and Art of Charles Chaplin or the biopic Chaplin / 6 Dec. Screenings are English-friendly. It is not necessary to be concurrently enrolled in a seminar on Chaplin.

|
During the seminar students attend the film, television and other audiovisual projections considered as necessary for the topic discussed in the lectures. The knowledge of projections could be a part of test or colloquium. Student can register only the projection seminar bound to lecture both of the same semester. Interconnection of them is a part of annotation announced at the beginning of semester on the department billboard. Topic for Winter 2022: Cinema of Charlie Chaplin
