- Implementing of sound - The Hollywood studio system and genre cinema - The British studio cinema - Popular and art cinema in France - Cinema of Italy: from the Fascist regime to neorealism - Cinema of the Central and Eastern Europe - Nordic cinema - Asian cinema - Cinema of Australia and Latin America - Transformations of the Hollywood studio system: institutions, technology, narration

Learning outcomes
A subsequent course of a compendious history of cinema. The lectures will focus on the sound cinema until the beginning of the 1960s when together with the birth of New Wave movements the overall transformation process appeared in the paradigm in cinema. The important technical innovations in image and sound which are significant for this period will be related to the industrial conditions of the origin of films and to their aesthetic form as well. The lectures will explore the relationship between film medium and sociopolitical context furthermore.
The course will provide students with the basic knowledge required for their further study of film history.
Prerequisites
The knowledge of the foregoing periods of the history of cinema. The courses necessary to graduation of these lectures: The History of World Cinema 1.
