Course content
|
"The Great Theatre Reform" (the themes are varied): 1. Definition of basic tendencies in the modern theatre of the first half of the 20th century (Anti-illusionism, director and his dominant role in modern theatre, stress on other components of theatre than on text) 2. E. G. Craig and A. Appia as the first reformers of 20th-century theatre 3. Max Reinhardt and his reform of theatre architecture and space 4. French reform of the theatre 5. Bertolt Brecht and his epic theatre.

Lecture is focused on particular topics of theatre history.
Detailed acquaintance with the particular topics of world theatre, orientation in cultural, social and political connections of the theatre in the first half of the 20th century.

Orientation in the history of the world theatre from ancient Greece till reneissance.
