Specific TV titles for analysis and mandatory readings will be chosen by the lecturer and will be uploaded to Moodle. Topics included: fans and fandom, fan activities and practices, fan creativity (prose, video, filk, cosplay etc.), cult fandom, production strategies reflecting fandoms, fanon/canon conversation etc. Detailed schedule of topics will be filled at the beginning of semester. Course theme in spring semester 2023/2024: Analyzing television fandom Lecturer: Anna Bílá Active audience is one of the key parts in today's television industry. Fandoms especially play a significant role in reception, meaning-making and, sometimes, even production. Students will discuss the concept of "fandom" and its specific activities and practices, as well as fan creations. The course is led in English. Mandatory reading, analyzing TV shows and final projects are included. Details will be presented in Moodle.

- mental and physical presence in seminar discussions - active participation in group discussions - mandatory readings - an oral presentation of chosen topic - transcript of an interview with a chosen member of a fandom (20 - 30 minutes tops) and a report summing up the results of the interview (1800 - 3600 characters; will be discussed at the beginning of the semestr) - uploaded in Moodle
