Lecturer: Paul Stepan Theme: Culture, economics, politics The lecture sketches the economic framework for cultural production, consumption and a rational for (public) funding.
Every person active in the cultural field will need basic knowledge of the legal, the social, the political and the economic framework of the cultural field. This lecture will briefly cover the economic framework and add a welfare economic perspective to the provision of culture in a society.

There are no prerequisites, although it helps to have a look at the welfare economic section in an economic textbook for beginners of your choice.
