Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to enable students to gain first-hand experience of the practical workings of the professional environment in fields related to their field of study (publishing houses, editorial offices, libraries, memory institutions, companies in the book and cultural industries, foreign institutions specialising in Czech studies, Czech Centres, Czech Schools Without Borders, etc.). The course aims to link the theoretical knowledge acquired during the course of study with real-world practice, to develop professional, organisational and communication skills, and to enhance graduates' employability in the labour market.
Upon successful completion of the placement, the student: - Describes the internal structure, functioning, working procedures and economic or operational mechanisms of the chosen institution or company. - Applies the theoretical knowledge acquired (in the fields of editorial work, publishing practice, textology, working with sources or cultural logistics, applied language skills, and the teaching of Czech as a foreign language) when tackling specific practical tasks in the workplace. - Demonstrates professional responsibility, flexibility, independence and the ability to work as part of a team. - Critically reflects on and evaluates their own work performance, limitations and personal development through structured self-assessment.
