Course content
|
The seminar consists of two separate but related parts. The first is a public presentation of the topic within the study group and in the presence of selected members of the teaching staff. The topic is discussed, revised, commented on and, where appropriate, approved. The second part involves the student working independently with their thesis supervisor, progressively submitting chapters of the thesis to the supervisor (in printed or electronic form), and receiving and responding to feedback from the supervisor or consultant (verbally, in writing, or via the e-learning system). The aim of the seminar is the final acceptance of the thesis text by the supervisor.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course is to guide students through the process of writing a Master's thesis, from the initial assignment to the final submission.
By completing this seminar, students will acquire the skills required to write their own academic text. They will be able to explain and defend the methodology and research questions contained in their own Master's thesis, and will develop their ability to formulate ideas and justify their conclusions.

Prerequisites
|
The seminar forms part of the so-called dissertation module. It is recommended that students also complete the related Methodology Seminar at the same time (or as soon as possible).

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Seminar Work
Respond to feedback and comments from the thesis supervisor, any thesis adviser and the wider panel of experts during the group assessment of the thesis. Submission of the dissertation to the system; approval of the submission by the supervisor. The dissertation must not be submitted without timely and adequate consultation!
