Course content
In addition to expanding vocabulary related to various communication situations, the seminar will discuss the following topics: content and formal structure of the text, selection from morphological doublets, selection of sentence structures according to the type of texts, verbal and non-verbal components of communication.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the character, principles and structure of texts with special attention to the norm of a professional text. Emphasis will be placed on vocabulary and phrases commonly used in this type of text, stylistics and also formal arrangement.
Students will be able to classify a text into the appropriate functional style, assess the appropriateness of the means used, and write a short professional text using adequate vocabulary and phrases.
Prerequisites
Students have a B1 level of Czech language proficiency.

Assessment methods and criteria
Seminar Work

Students are active in their work at the seminar, they are able to interpret Czech text and write a text on a selected topic in Czech.
