Obsah předmětu
|
The course is divided into three blocks. In the first block, the academic speaking style will be presented, additionaly the chosen features of academic communication and its preparation (rules of orthoepy, onomatological and syntactic procedures). In the second block, the course will focus on the preparation of the presentation (e.g. Power Point), both in terms of content and formal aspects. In this block, students also learn the principles of non-verbal communication related to public speaking to small/large groups (eye contact, posture, etc.) and strategies in discussions (responding to questions, etc.). The third block will be practically oriented, students will show their presentations and posters on various topics and actively participate in discussions (asking and answering questions). The aim is to simulate the situation at conferences and thesis defenses.

The aim of the course is to introduce the principles and rules of academic communication, specifically with the genres of spoken communication (lecture, paper, poster, discussion), and to improve their skills in this field (preparing a presentation, ability to participate in a discussion).
