Course content |
The course is aimed at students intermediate and upper-intermediate knowledge of English. Students will improve their theoretical and practical knowledge of English including English for special purposes (political science terminology etc.) The course is aimed at communication skills learning through various activities (role plays, case studies etc.) Students will test his/her English in practice in mock presentations, mock interviews a communication techniques training (negotiation, mediation and listening). Integral part of the course is political science text reading, analysis and case studies. Students have oportunity to use their skills in practice (in cooperation with foreign universities and institutions). Topics: Political Science topics will be agreed upon after discussing their interests and knowledge in the field at the first lesson. One of the topics will be the relationship of language/discourse and power reflected in language.

Prerequisites |
The course is designed for intermediate and upper-intermediate Enlish speakers (B1+). It is aimed above all for political science students.

Assessment methods and criteria |
Oral exam, Written exam, Essay, Analysis of linguistic, Dialog, Questionnaire, Seminar Work
Credit requirements: Attendance: 2 absences max. Absence is no excuse for not being prepared in the next lesson. Being active in class. Homework: students should submit homework or the work required for credits by the set deadlines (presentation, essay, etc.) Pass the credit test (written). Written test includes grammar, vocabulary, communication skills, listening comprehension or other form of exercise. Students are required to arrive in class on time, fully prepared and in an acceptable hygienic state. |
