Course content
|
The course is aimed at students with intermediate knowledge of English. Students will increase their language competence including vocabulary related to their are of studies. The course is also aimed at communication skills learning.

Learning outcomes
|
Navigate Upper-Intermediate B2 (selected units) is the core material used in class to present grammar, vocabulary and for listening comprehension tasks. The course is aimed at communication skills learning through various activities (role plays, case studies etc.) Students will test their English in practice in mock presentations, mock interviews a communication techniques training (negotiation, mediation and listening). Integral part of the course is political science text reading, analysis and case studies. These activities will contribute to gaining the target vocabulary. Topics: Asian studies topics will be agreed upon after discussing their interests and knowledge in the field at the first lesson.
Students will increase their language competence to level B2 according to CEFR including vocabulary related to Asian studies.

Prerequisites

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam, Student performance
Credit requirements: Attendance: 2 absences max. Absence is no excuse for not being prepared in the next lesson. Being active in class. Homework: students should submit homework or the work required for credits by the set deadlines (presentation, essay, etc.) Pass the credit test (written). Written test includes grammar, vocabulary, communication skills, listening comprehension or other form of exercise.
