The language of instruction of the course is English. Project management principles are nowadays widely incorporated into many domains of professional life. Therefore, for further career prospects, it is crucial to be familiar with the up-to-date approaches to project management and to be able to apply its techniques in the practice. Topics: 1. Project management in the globalized world -introducing case studies 2. Principles of project management 3. Project planning 4. Implementation of the projects - monitoring and control 5. Implementation of the projects - tools and techniques 6. Implementation of the projects - Dealing with risks and problem solving 7. Leading the project team - human factors in the project management 8. Leading the project teams - intercultural factors and specifics 9. Leading virtual project teams 10. Formalising project management education - p.m. certification systems and methodologies (Price 2, IPMA etc.) 11. Specific project management approaches 12. Project management application in selected global industries (e.g. health care, IT, constructions, public administration)

Výstupy z učení

The objective of the course is to provide the students with a structured knowledge of project management principles and techniques which represent the current body of the domain. The course will pay a strong emphasis on the aspects and features of managing projects in the global setting. The course will include practical examples and case situations of projects managed in the international environment.
