Course content
The Muslim invasion and the creation of the emirate and caliphate in Cordoba; introduction and diffusion of the Moslem architecture in Europe in the indicated countries, including the echo in the last 19th C. (for example, the Spanish Synagogue at Prague). Origin of the taifs´dominations and architecture, alhoravide and almohade art (art of the North African tribes in the territories of Spain, Normand Sicily and Muslims. The purpose of the lectures is to present the penetration of the of the Muslim culture, especially of architecture and the decorative arts (in the case of the Mozarabic art the manuscripts, too) in the European context, after all in Spain, Portugal, Italy an England (Durham).

Prerequisites
