Course content
1. The character of Praque artistic scene at the beginning of the 19th century. 2. Josef Navrátil. 3. Classicistic and romantic tendencies in Czech sculpture of the first half of the 19th century, Václav Levý. 4. Josef Mánes. 5. Academic historical painting in the second half of the 19th century. 6. Realism in Czech painting of the 19th century, Karel Purkyně. 7. The Czech landscape-painting development in 19th century. 8. The National thetre generation, Vojtěch Hynais. 9. J. V. Myslbek. 10. Painting of the last third of 19th century.

Learning outcomes
The single semester cycle of lectures is clear outlines of the history of Czech painting and sculpture in the context of artistic tendences of the Europian art of the 19th century. More attention is paid to the specific benefits of the most creative personalities.
Basic knowledge of the development of painting and sculpture in the Czech lands in the 19th century.
Prerequisites
Ending the first year of the bachelor degree.
