The course focuses on basic orientation in the issue of gender perspective in art and architecture history from the end of the 19th century to the present. It will introduce selected topics from artistic production in the Euro-American space with examples from Central Europe, in relation to key theoretical concepts. Special attention is paid to neglected figures in art and architectural history and to a critical reading of canonical art history. Based on readings and analysis of works, the course deals with themes of identity, physicality, race, sexuality, authorship, and institutional criticism.
