The topics are not translated, lectures are held in Czech, basic kowledge of Czech is assumed.

Learning outcomes
The course will introduce students to the developing discipline of the exhibition histories. It focuses on the 20th and 21st centuries, with emphasis on the last fifty years, and especially the Western discourse of art, which will be complemented by the examples from the Czech art. The course also touches practical aspects, it will provide basic orientation in the institutional structure in the Czech Republic, literature and other information sources. Lectures will be enriched by visiting the exhibitions, artists' studios or meetings with curators.
The course will deliver a competency in the issue of exhibition and curatorship history, it will develop critical and informed thinking about the topic. Students will also get an overview of the institutional structure in the Czech Republic, literature and other information sources. The students will verify the acquired knowledge by preparing a paper on the selected topic.

Active participation, discussion, close reading, writing a paper (in Czech, Slovak or English).
