Course content
1. Structure of the qualification thesis and its formal requirements 2. Professional styles and conventions 3. Formulation of the thesis aim and of the hypothesis 4. Methodology and conception of the thesis 5. Ratio of analysis and synthesis within a professional text 6. Description, commentary, reflection as means of addressing the issue 7. Lexical aspect of the professional text, terminology and its application in sentences (statements) 8. Critical evaluation of the results of existing research on the issue as a compulsory part of the thesis 9. Citation standard of the "Art" journal and methods of citing unpublished sources 10. Formulation of annotation apparatus and bibliography 11. Preparation of appendices 12. Relationship between the written text and its presentation 13. Presentation of the thesis topic

Learning outcomes
The seminar focuses on advanced writing of a professional text, on the specifics of working with sources and literature and on the practical aspects of affecting a work of art, an artist, a phenomenon, etc. with a professional text. An equally important goal is to improve oral expression skills, formal aspects of professional discussion, substantive argumentation and presentation of the assigned topic.

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral presentation of the thesis topic, methods and aims. Submission of a part of the text, its analysis and consultation. Attending at least 80% of classes.
