The course is designed as a series of selected probes covering a wide range of topics related to the subject of 17th and 18th century painting in Bohemia and Moravia. Specific examples will be used to present the diverse painting roles and characteristic phenomena associated with artistic practice in the period, all with an emphasis on historical, social and cultural contexts. The possibilities of their analysis, interpretation, methodological grasp and current research approach will also be presented.
Orientation in the issues of 17th and 18th century painting in the Czech lands; knowledge of key artists and types of art commissions; developing skills of reception and interpretation of works of art. |
