Learning outcomes
|
The course is designed as a survey course that introduces students to the main stages of the history of European art, also taking into account the situation in the Czech lands. Lectures in the summer semester will deal with art from the 16th century to the early 20th century - from Mannerism to Marcel Duchamp's Fountain. Against the background of historical and cultural context, the main movements, prominent personalities and key works of each period will be presented.
Basic orientation in the problems of artistic creation from Mannerism to the beginning of the 20th century. At the end of the course, students will be able to understand and explain the basic stages of the development of European art in the specific period.
