Course content
The topic of each term will be different.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
The course will cover the advance themes of profane iconography in art history, interpretations of complicated artworks of mythological and profane iconography. It will deal with its literary sources, antique mythology, allegories and symbols used in art history, emblems and the overlap between profane and Christian iconography on the examples of art works ranging from Antiquity to the 20th century. The examples of famous painting cycles from Italy and Central Europe will be used (as Palazzo Farnese in Rome, Trautenfels castle, Cortona´s ceiling painting in Palazzo Barberini in Rome, Giordano´s fresco painting in Palazzo Medici-Riccardi in Florence ecc.).
Ability to interpret complicated artworks and complex iconographical programs.
Prerequisites
The course Iconography of antic themes 1, 2 (BA) or deep knowledge of mythology and profane iconography is required.

Oral exam

Final exam and other requirements specified by the lecturers.
