Course content
|
Student teaches an Asian language course following a teaching material selected to fit the needs of the course. He/she needs to work independently to prepare study plan design, extra teaching materials, homework assignments and also proceed with the teaching.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to get first hand Asian language teaching experience. Student gains teaching experience as a language teacher in his/her home country or abroad (eg. language schools, primary schools, high schools, afterschool programs). Individual private classes out of schools cannot be accepted. Minimum of 36 teaching hours + 100 hours of preparation + 12 consultation hours with mentor are required.
Student gains experience in teaching Asian language, study plan design and class activity preparation.

Prerequisites
|
Advanced knowledge of Asian language, interest in language pedagogy and willingness to learn new teaching techniques are required.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Seminar Work, Certificate of Graduation of Internship
Student needs to arrange the teaching position himself/herself and consult the selection with the teacher at the beginning of the semester. To obtain credits, student needs to submit a proof from the employer on completion of min. 36 hours of teaching. Student is also required to meet the head-teacher regularly during the semester and by the end of the semester, submit: 1. final report including a class report - detailed evidence of all classes (including description of individual classes, lesson plans and activities) 2. time sheet signed by the employer 3. book review - review a theoretical book focusing on teaching given Asian language.
