1. Literary work. Aesthetical function of literature. 2. Lyric, epic, drama 3. Literary genres, their development and changes 4. Metaphor - its forms and function 5. Verse, rhythm, rhyme 6. Composition of literary work 7. structure of literary work 8. Theme, motif 9. Narration 10. Narratology 11. Literary characters and their typology 12. Intertextuality and its forms

Learning outcomes
In this course, students are provided with the basic terminology necessary for analysis and interpretation of a literary work. Using the gained knowledge, students analyse selected literary texts and apply various methods of text interpretation.
