Course content
|
You will improve your theoretical and practical knowledge of English communication especially expert and workplace communication. We will work with: - job interviews - writing reports - participating in negotiations - presentations - and much more The course is aimed at communication skills learning through various activities (role plays, case studies etc.). Students will test their English in practice in mock presentations, mock interviews a communication techniques training (negotiation, mediation and listening, presentation skills, writing reports and business communication), and intercultural skills. An integral part of the course is reading, analysis and case studies. We put emphasis on using Plain English.

Learning outcomes
|
Are you planning to use English as your professional langauge? This course is aimed at learning communication skills through various activities (role plays, case studies etc.). The goal is to help preparing you for working or studying abroad, and for using English as your main language of communication. We will work with language and methods how to: - participate in negotiations and discussions, - how to write reports and business letters, - how to hold presentations, - write CVs and cover letters - and much more! The subject is taught as a part of the project "English Communication Skills Education Innovation". The course is aimed at students with intermediate and upper-intermediate knowledge of English. Students will improve their theoretical and practical knowledge of English communication especially professional communication.
You will improve their theoretical and practical knowledge of English communication (B2/C1). The course is aimed at communication skills in practice - meaning the ability to use the gained skills in real situations. At the end of the course you will be better prepared for using English in everyday work situations, including many of the normal tasks that might be asked of you. This includes communicating skills, writing, reading and presenting.

Prerequisites
|
The course is designed for intermediate and upper-intermediate English speakers (B2/B2+). It is aimed above all towards students of political science, sociology, economics, and journalism, but students of other fields are also welcome. Students with a level lower than B2 should not take this course. Assessment methods and criteria

Written exam, Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Dialog, Questionnaire, Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio
Credit requirements: - Class presence: 2 absent classes max. Absence is in no case the reason for not being prepared in the following class. - Activity in class. - Homework: students should submit the homework or the work required for credits by the set deadlines. - Successful completion of the written credit test and final presentation. All requirements shall be completed by the end of the exam period of the semester.
