Course content
Kaufmann, S. - Lemcke, Ch. - Rohrmann, L. - Rusch, P. - Scherling, T. - Sonntag, R. Berliner Platz 3 NEU. Deutsch im Alltag. Lehr- und Arbeitsbuch. München: Klett-Langenscheidt, 2013. (units 16-18) Study materials in the Moodle system (available to students enrolled in the course).

Learning outcomes
The main objective for this semester is complete the next three units (16-18) from the Berliner Platz 2 NEU coursebook which develop students' communication abilities and include activities related to all four language skills. More focus will be put on the receptive skills of listening and reading comprehension. Thursday course: The second semester of a four-semester course in German language for students of "The History of Art and the Theory of Art" is aimed at simultaneous development of general and specialized language. The specialized part involves working with various kinds of specialized texts and acquisition of related vocabulary.
After passing the course students will be able to use the grammar and vocabulary (units 16-18 of the coursebook) well. At the end of the whole course (NJ1-NJ4) they will be able to prove that their language skills are at the B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
Prerequisites
German language on level A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference. This includes all the language skills, i. e. reading, listening, writing and speaking. Students' grammar and vocabulary skills must also be on the required level.
