Course content
Lectures gives an outline of Latin normativ syntax in the comparision with modern languages and presents examples comming from original texts. Seminars are focusing on practical exercises and translation from Latin in Czech and vice versa. The aim is to achieve Latin grammar practically, because it is necessary because of working with original Latin texts. Irregular verbs (basis) Parataxis, hypotaxis Sequence of tenses; indicative, subjunctive Indicative noun clauses, voluntative noun c., interrogative noun c. Relative clauses

Learning outcomes
Lectures gives an outline of Latin normativ syntax in the comparision with modern languages and presents examples comming from original texts.
Student achieves a practical knowledge of Latin syntax, which is a necessary prerequisite for a higher level of working with Latin original texts.
Prerequisites
Perfect knowlege of Latin morfology. Passing courses LMORF 1, 2, 3.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written exam

Written test focusing on active knowledge of Latin conjunctional syntax and irregular verbs.
