Course content
The program is structure in three on-line lectures series and one in-presence seminar: On-line: Seminar 1 - Intercultural competence Seminar 2 - Modern Technologies and/in Language Learning Seminar 3 - Mediation in language teaching and learning Seminar 4 - The flipped classroom strategy In-presence: - mediation between language and cultural identities; - practicing and improving intercultural skills and the ability to deal with uncertainty to enable work and study in a global environment; - using AI to teach, create teaching materials and tests; - understanding how different online technologies can facilitate the development of different languages skills; - transferring the language classroom to the digital world and turning it into an advantage; - discussing and exploring when the digital environment is most useful in language teaching, to whom and when; - exploring the impact of AI on the language learner.

Learning outcomes
- Society is global, with science and commerce spanning the planet. This means that the ability to work and communicate on a wider scale than ever before is an absolute necessity. This puts language teaching and learning in the centre of development: in this globalized world the need to master languages is more urgent than ever. Digital advances have opened a door to unlimited opportunities both how to learn and use other languages, which benefits both learners and teachers. At the same time, simply having language skills is not enough. We need to be able to truly communicate and work together over cultural and digital borders, which means stretching further than just vocabulary and grammar and into the fields of intercultural communication and mediation. Learning how to use digital technologies (not only) in language learning contributes to the development of a wider range of digital skills. Such skills can be used to enhance the understanding of how technologies work and how individuals can use them to develop more efficient learning strategies. In order to equip the participants with a concrete and useful set of skills to use in the language classroom, the course will focus on: - mediation between language and cultural identities; - practicing and improving intercultural skills and the ability to deal with uncertainty to enable work and study in a global environment; - using AI to teach, create teaching materials and tests; - understanding how different online technologies can facilitate the development of different languages skills; - transferring the language classroom to the digital world and turning it into an advantage; - discussing and exploring when the digital environment is most useful in language teaching, to whom and when; - exploring the impact of AI on the language learner. The course will take both a theoretical and practical perspective on the topic, but will mainly focus on the practical side, giving the participants concrete toolboxes in order to develop their language teaching, improve the learning experience for individual students, and help language learners to achieve their goals more efficiently.
- Learning outcomes: knowledge of how to use latest digital technology for a wide range of tasks when teaching languages, using diversity as an advantage and tool for deeper understanding and creativity in the language classroom. This means equipping the participants with a global and digital toolbox to use to improve their learning experience. - The course will also stimulate cooperation between the participating universities and hopefully lead to further courses in the future. - The course ends with a mandatory task to be used for evaluation of participants.

- Active attendance in class (in case of absence, a doctor's or departmental certificate must be presented). In no case is a student's absence a reason for not being prepared for the next class - all examination requirements will be completed by the student no later than the end of the examination period of the semester. - Active participation - Completing all required tasks, including submitting a final report
