Course content
|
Study materials used in the course are taken from miscellanoues sources on the pre-intermediate level and are combined so that every day all the before-mentioned skills are practised - communication, reading, writing, listening. These materials include: 1) grammar topics - The Present Simple/Continous, The Past Simple/Continuous, The Present Perfect, The Future, Modal Verbs of Obligation, Modal Verbs of Possibility, Conditionals, Phrasal Verbs 2) topics for listening, reading, conversation - Art, Holidays, Travelling, Social Conscience, National Stereotypes, Crime, Advertisement, Fact or Fiction, British English x American English, etc. ALL MATERIALS WILL BE SENT TO STUDENTS' UNIVERSITY EMAIL ADDRESSES BEFORE THE COURSE STARTS. STUDENTS ARE OBLIGED TO PRINT OUT ALL TEXTS AND BRING THEM TO EACH CLASS. NOTE: The intensive course will be held in one week. There is no examination at the end of this course

Learning outcomes
|
The main goal of the course AIKM is to deepen students' English language skills on level pre-intermediate (A2-B1) in the following areas - discussion, reading, listening, writing. The priority is to sum up all the important language features of the pre-intermediate level so that students can move to the higher, intermediate level.
Students will practise all basic skills in English on level pre-intermediate - communication, reading, writing, listening They will deepen their skills and move on to the intermediate level.

Prerequisites
|
The course is intended only for the students of the pre-intermediate level of English. -not for beginners -without relation to a particular field of study -the course does not count as the mandatory one (students have to do in their study programmes) Before choosing the course, you can do the placement test (user ID and password are identical with Portal UP):https://moodle.ff.upol.cz/course/view.php?id=287

Input level A2 of CEFR - active participation in the course - 100% attendance Students are obliged to finish this course by the end of exam period of the semester in which they enrolled for the course!
