The introductory semester of the course focuses on consolidating previously acquired language knowledge (grammar, vocabulary) and language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing). Before enrolling in the course, students can check their language level in an entrance placement test, which is available after enrollment. The minimum level required for enrollment in this two-semester course is B1+. Throughout the course (1AJB2 and 2AJB2), students will work with an Upper-intermediate (B2) level textbook. The aim of the language exercises in this semester is also to help students recognize the strengths and weaknesses of their language skills and motivate them to work independently on developing them.
Upon completing the course, students will have a good command of the grammar and vocabulary covered in the first half of the textbook. By the end of the entire course (1AJB2-1AJB2), students will be able to demonstrate language proficiency at the B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
